Defense Workshop 2
TBA 2020

CHP class description:   This course satisfies the training requirements for those wishing to apply for a Virginia permit to carry a concealed handgun and will expose the student to the mindset, tactics, skill, and gear necessary to safely and responsibly own, carry, and use a handgun.  The course will cover rights, responsibilities, restrictions, travel concerns, permit recognition, holster selection, use of force analysis, foundation of four safety rules, live fire marksmanship and martial handling exercises, emergency preparedness, and things to practice after training.  The experience is fun, informative, interactive, and a good educational value.

Place:   TBD.  We are hosted for remote classes only for the time being.  Feel free to inquire about a class at your location for your group.

Time:   Most classes are 8:00am-5:00pm.  There will be breaks as needed and a one-hour break for lunch.

Cost:   $75.  This includes participant materials and use of a handgun and ear and eye protection for the range exercises.  I can accept credit cards, cash, good checks, gold, or silver for payment.

What you need to bring:   The most important and only required things to bring are a positive attitude and an open mind.  After that, you are asked to bring eye and ear protection (if you have it) and a brimmed hat.  Electronic hearing protection is required; we have loaners available if needed.  Ball caps, boonie hats, outdoor shoes, and higher neck-line shirts are encouraged for the range activities.  You are encouraged and welcome to bring your own handgun(s) and ammunition.

PLEASE NOTE:    This class is open to the responsible, honorable, and patriotic public.  If you are irresponsible, please don't enroll.  If you throw trash out of your car's window, park in the fire lane, cheat on your spouse, use discounts you're not entitled to, steal valor, abuse animals, kneel for our national anthem, are here illegally, etc. then I don't want to train you.  If you don't like America, I don't like you.  I teach for the outcome, not the income, and as such, only want to train people of good character who are making our country better.

By registering for this class, student confirms that he/she is lawfully able to possess a firearm and agrees that his/her likeness in photo or video may be used in future marketing.  If the student expressly does not wish for his/her picture or video images to be used, it is his/her responsibility to conceal identity.  No one under the influence of alcohol/illegal drugs will be allowed; any related dismissal will be without refund.  Successful completion of the class satisfies Virginia's training requirement, but does not guarantee that you will be issued a concealed handgun permit by the clerk of your local circuit court.  While Virginia is a “shall-issue” state, there are many factors that are considered in determining your eligibility to be permitted.  It is your responsibility to ensure that all requirements (other than the training) are met prior to enrolling in this class.  Registering for this class is a commitment to train on both of our parts, so there will be no refunds.  While we will be observing the four safety rules and developing safe habits, participants must sign a waiver of liability and acknowledgment of risks prior to their participation in this class.  Instructor is neither a lawyer, nor medical professional and does not give legal or medical advice; students are strongly encouraged to consult the appropriate professionals about all matters outside the scope of this class.
